Please complete and return one of the official applications to the Human Resource Office. Applications are accepted at any time and remain active until September 30th following the date of application. If you want your application to remain active and current, you will need to notify the Human Resources office in writing prior to that date.
You cannot be considered without a completed application in the active file except in emergency situations. In order for your application file to be complete, it must contain the following:
o Application (Certified or Classified)
o Transcript(s) of all academic work
o References: See explanation in application
o Copy of your PRAXIS scores
o Copy of your most current NC or out-of-state teaching license(s)
o Copy of at least two recent summative evaluation forms completed by
your principal/supervisor if you have been employed within the last five
years
o Completed permission form (see below) for criminal background investigation
Students in North Carolina colleges should check with their college education department concerning licensure. Out-of-State applicants should write the office of Licensure, State Department of Public Instruction, 301 N. Wilmington St., Raleigh, NC 27601-2825 to determine their eligibility for licensure to teach at the level or in the field for which they are applying. North Carolina licensure is required for employment as a teacher in Northampton County Schools, and a copy of your license must be filed when employed.
Your application in our active file will be considered when openings in your area of licensure occur. In most cases, only applicants with a completed application are considered for vacancies.
